Kirkwood football played against the Webster Statesmen for the annual Turkey Day game Nov. 26, 2021. With a score of 65-0, Kirkwood took the win from Webster this year. Every year, with a few exceptions, Kirkwood has played Webster on Thanksgiving day as a tradition in the community since 1907. Kirkwood has won the last 8 years in a row, and they plan to continue the winning streak. Another thing they plan to continue is the traditions, and with that, each football player has a different tradition they look forward to on this day every year.

The 2021 football season saw the return of J-Mac! Jeremy Maclin, a former football star at Kirkwood High School has returned to KHS to coach. Maclin went on from Kirkwood to play college football at Mizzou and then in the NFL with the Eagles, Chiefs and Ravens. Maclin had an eight year pro career, that ended due to injuries after the 2017 NFL season.

The star wide receiver was named head coach at Kirkwood to help the Pioneers of today and tomorrow reach their football dreams. For Maclin, he is glad to return to his football roots and help the young players at Kirkwood High School.
